Sr. Anna Maria Byrne

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Sr. Anna Maria Byrne, daughter of the late John and Catherine, formerly of Oldcastle, Coachford, Co. Cork. Peacefully in the loving care of the staff of Daleview Nursing Home, Derry on 6th November 2025.

Sr. Anna Maria, beloved sister of the late Teddy, Dan, Rita, Tom and baby Anthony. Deeply regretted by her nieces and nephews and extended family. Sorely missed by her sorrowing community of Good Shepherd Sisters in Derry, Ireland, India and Worldwide.

Sr. Anna Maria’s remains will be reposing at the Good Shepherd Convent Oratory, 38 Dungiven Road, tomorrow, Saturday 8th November from 3pm to 8.30pm. Her remains will leave the Convent Oratory on Sunday 9th November at 5.15pm for 5.30pm arrival to St. Columb’s Church, Chapel Rd to repose overnight. Sr. Anna Maria’s Requiem Mass will then take place on Monday 10th November at 10am. Burial will take place immediately afterwards in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Ardmore.
