Sr. Carmel (Mary Bernadette) Hely

Derrynagitta, Feakle, Co Clare and Sisters of Mercy, Galway.

Sr. Carmel died peacefully, in the loving care of the staff and management of Bushfield Care Centre, Oranmore, Co. Galway. Predeceased by her parents Edward and Margaret (O’Brien) Hely, her brother Patrick, her sisters Noreen and Olive and her brothers-in-law. Deeply regretted and fondly remembered by the Sisters of Mercy Western Province, her sister Teresa (Purtill) and Carmel (Slattery), her brother Tommy and sister-in-law Kathleen, her nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, her nursing colleagues and a large circle of friends.

Sr. Carmel will be reposing in St. Vincent’s Convent, Newtownsmith, Galway, from 3pm on Sunday (April 2nd) with removal at 6pm to the nearby Abbey Church, St. Francis Street. Her funeral Mass will be celebrated there on Monday (April 3rd) at 11.30am followed by burial in the Mercy Cemetery, Forster St., Galway.
