Sr. Dympna (Eileen) O’Connor, Sisters of Mercy, Tralee and formerly Kilgulbin, Ardfert, Co. Kerry, died peacefully on 20th January 2026 in the loving and dedicated care of the Holy Cross Community, Killarney, beloved daughter of the late Jeremiah and Nora (Sheehy), dear sister of Dympna (Clune- Wicklow) and late Mary (Kearney) & Diarmuid and aunt of the late Conor (Clune).

Lovingly remembered by her nieces Norma, Pauline, Mari & Norma T., nephews Enda, Conor, Tommy, Fergus, Patrick, Darren, Richard & Patrick J., grandnieces, grandnephews, sister-in-law Ann, the Sisters and Staff in Holy Cross, Killarney, the Congregation of the Sisters of Mercy, her relatives and many friends.

Sr. Dympna will repose at The Gleasure Funeral Home, Tralee, on Wednesday (January 21st) from 5 to 7 p.m. Funeral arriving to Our Lady & St. Brendan’s Church, Tralee, on Thursday morning at 10.30 a.m. where the Requiem Mass for Sr. Dympna will be celebrated at 11.00 a.m. (streamed on www.stbrendansparishtralee.net). Interment afterwards in New Rath Cemetery, Tralee.
