Sr. Magdalen McGarry

The death has occurred of Sr. Magdalen McGarry, Convent of Mercy, St Joseph’s Road, Longford and formerly of Ballintampan, Longford on 24th September 2025. Peacefully, in the tender care of the doctors, nurses and care staff in Laurel Lodge Nursing Home. Predeceased by her parents Michael and Katie, her brothers Michael, Joe, Tony, Ambrose, Stephen, Terry and Harry and her sister Mary.

Lovingly remembered by her sister- in -law Marina, nephews, nieces, grandnephews, grandnieces, relatives, friends, teaching colleagues and the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch.

Reposing in the Laurel Lodge Nursing Home Chapel, Longford (Eircode N39 XE92)

on Friday 26th September from 5pm concluding with prayers at 7pm.

Removal from Convent of Mercy, St. Joseph’s Road, Longford on Saturday 27th September to arrive at St Mel’s Cathedral,

for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am.

Internment afterwards in Ballymacormack Cemetery, Longford.
