The death has occurred of
Sr. Mercedes DESMOND
Desmond (St. Maries of the Isle and late of Donoughmore) On May 12th 2023, peacefully surrounded by her loving family and community at St. Maries of the Isle, Sr. Mercedes,(former Principal of St. Aloysius School) daughter of the late Paddy and Hannah and sister of the late Kitty (Desmond, Her Twin), Sr. Annunciata (Mary), Joan (Looney) and Sheila (Noonan), aunt of the late Val (Looney) and Rita (Looney). Deeply regretted and much loved by her nieces Mary (Manning) and Siobhan (Coleman), nephew Pat Joe (Looney), grandnieces Mairead (Manning), Caitlin and Erin (Looney), Valerie (Coleman), grandnephew Diarmuid (Manning), her Mercy Community, relatives and a large circle of friends.
May she rest in peace.
Reposing at St. Maries of the Isle Convent Chapel on Sunday (14th) from 3.30pm until evening prayer at 5.00pm. Requiem Mass on Monday (15th) at 11.00am which may be viewed on www.mycondolences.ie , funeral afterwards to St. James’s Cemetery, Chetwynd.
