The death has occurred of
Sr. Mercy Ryan
Formerly of St. Mary’s Nursing Home Galway, Newtownforbes, Granard, Renmore and St. Vincent’s Community Galway.
On the 26th of August 2025, Sr. Mercy Ryan passed away very peacefully in University Hospital Galway. Predeceased by her parents Patrick and Roseanne Ryan and her brothers William, Paddy and Edward.
Will be very sadly missed by her sisters Elizabeth Egan and Anne Rabbitte, brothers Jim and John, nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews, the Sisters of Mercy St. Vincent’s, the Sisters of Mercy Western Branch and her wide circle of friends.
May her kind and gentle soul rest in peace.
Sr. Mercy Ryan will be reposing in St. Vincent’s Convent, Newtownsmith, Galway (H91 W6X4), on Friday the 29th of August from 3pm. Removal at 5pm to The Abbey Church, St. Francis Street, Galway (H91 DHA2). Requiem Mass will be celebrated on Saturday the 30th of August at 10:30am. Sr. Mercy Ryan will then be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.
