Stephen passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by the devoted love and care of his family. Beloved husband of the late Breige (née Agnew) and much-loved and devoted father of Paula (McCarragher), Rosemary, Michelle (Reel), Majella, Therese (McGlew), Gerard, Lourda and Stephen. Predeceased by his brother John.
Stephen will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his daughters and sons; his cherished grandchildren Gráinne, Laura, Brian, Karen, Hannah, Sarah, John, Eva, Ella, James, Michael and Bridget; his adored great-grandchildren Aoife and Méabh; sons-in-law Brian, John and Alf; daughters-in-law Dee and Esther; sisters Annie, Mary and Sheila; sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law; extended family; wonderful neighbours and a wide circle of friends.
A former President of the Knights of Hibernia John Boyle O’Reilly Society, member of Fianna Fáil, Stephen gave dedicated service to his community throughout his life. He was also a lifelong committed supporter and volunteer with Kilkerley Emmets and Dowdallshill GAA Club, where his passion for sport and community spirit left a lasting impression on generations.
Stephen lived a full and generous life, defined by faith, family, friendship and service. His legacy will live on in the many lives he touched and the community he helped strengthen.

Stephen will repose at Dixon’s Funeral Home, Maxwell Row, Bridge Street, Dundalk (Eircode A91 PV07) on Tuesday 17th between 3 o’clock and 8 o’clock. Removal on Wednesday morning at 10.30am from his home to St Nicholas Church arriving for Funeral Mass at 11 o’clock. To view the funeral mass click the link below.
