Steve King

The death has occurred, peacefully, of Steve King on Sunday, 2nd June, 2019, surrounded by his loving family and medical team at John's Hopkins Aramco Healthcare (JHAH) Saudi Arabia. Son-in-law of Margareth & Sean Whelan, 2 Cherryhill Green, Kells, Co. Meath. 

Many moving and touching tributes have been paid following the death of Steve by family and friends all over the world. Steve was a person who won the affection of so many people with his warm and caring personality, a devoted family man, a gifted musician, craftsman, electrical engineer, with a very brillant brain and an outstanding colourful sense of dress.  Steve was a very highly qualified expert in the oil company in Saudi. He, at the time of his death, held the position of drilling superintendant in Saudi Aramco, a position in which he was highly regarded as been an expert in his field. Having won many awards for his workmanship and knowledge, he will be greatly mourned by his many work colleagues from many parts of the world. He had worked at Saudi Aramco from the early nineties. When Steve became aware of his serious illness, which he excepted with great courage and acceptance, he informed his family that he would wish his funeral to take place in Ireland, a country where he travelled to on many occasions with family and friends. 

Steve's remains will arrive at St. Colmcille's Church, Kells, on Saturday morning, 22nd June, for funeral service of rememberance at 11am, followed by cremation at Lakelands Creamatorium, Co. Cavan, at 1.30pm.

Steve is survived by his heartbroken mother Shirley, his loving wife Siobhan, son Chris, daughter Shelby, mother-in-law Margaret, father-in-law Sean, in-laws and a very large circle of family in many parts of the world.
