Susan Blake

Blake, Susan (Dublin) : It is with great sadness that we announce the untimely death in Nantes, France, on April 23, 2025, after a short illness, of Susan Blake.

Susan was born in Dublin in 1960 and was the eldest daughter of Sean and Frances Blake. She attended Mount Anville Primary and Secondary Schools and completed her medical degree at Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland in 1984. After post graduate training in Dublin, she pursued her career as an ophthalmologist in France for 30 years.

Susan is survived by her by her spouse, Evelyne Grenier, and by her brother, Peter and spouse Rose, her sister Rhona and spouse Charlie Murless, and her sister Judy and spouse Mark O’Mahony, as well as by her 5 nephews and 1 niece. She also leaves behind many friends and relatives. These include Evelyne’s family, as well as Lionel and Jessica Storc, and Collette and Francois Mosset in France, Patrice and Kevin and Fiona and all the O’ Callaghan family in Listowel and Ballybunion, Co Kerry, Mary Kelly, Conor Collins and Samantha and Des O’Neill and Margaret Grace in Dublin, and Fiona O’Doherty in Lexington, Kentucky.

Susan’s funeral occurred in Nantes on April 30th 2025.
