Sydney passed away peacefully on the 1st May 2025, surrounded by his loving family, and in the loving care of nurses and staff of St. Vincent’s Nursing Unit Mountmellick. Predeceased by his wife Valerie, parents Richard and Emily. Sadly, missed by his loving family son Richard, daughters Vicky and Charlene, grandchildren Shane, Cian, Darragh, Emily, Tilly, Ava and Poppy, brother John, daughter-in-law Aisling, sons-in-law Anthony (Coffey) and Simon (Bailey), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, extended family, neighbours and friends.

Reposing at Burke’s Funeral Home, Mountrath this Saturday evening (May 3rd) from 6.0’clock, concluding with Prayers at 8.0’clock. Removal from his home (Derrycarrow) on Sunday afternoon (May 4th) to arrive in St. Jude's Church Annatrim (eircode R32Y060), for Funeral Service at 2.0’clock, followed by Burial in the adjoining Churchyard.
