Tess (Mary Teresa) Redmond Forde (née Oates)
Frenchpark, St. Joseph’s, Tivoli Road, Harold’s Cross, Templeville Road and Dungarvan, Co. Waterford.
Passed away after a short illness in the care of the fabulous team of University Hospital Waterford, 10 January 2026.
Born 12 April 1946 to Jim and Rose Oates, Frenchpark, Co. Roscommon. Raised by the loving Nuns of St. Joseph’s Convent, Tivoli Road, Dun Laoghaire from 1950 to 1964. Predeceased by her brothers Gerard and Seamus and by her sons’ father, Paul. Sadly missed by her loving husband Denis Forde, sons David, Ian and Alan, brother Kieran, grandchildren Chiara, Beau, Boon, Daisy, Rayna, daughters-in-law, brothers and sisters in-law, cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and by her St. Joseph’s sisters Eithne, Laraine, Angela, Nuala and Marguerite and by her many friends from all over the world, RTÉ, The Lions Club, Irish Wheelchair Association and Friends of the Elderly. Her energy and generosity knew no limit.

Tess’ Final Journey
Tess will be reposing at the Larry Massey Funeral Home, Eden Centre, Grange Road, Rathfarnham, D16 V046, on Monday (January 19th) from 5pm to 7pm. Removal on Tuesday morning (January 20th) to St. Augustine’s Church, Abbeyside, Dungarvan, Co. Waterford, X35 N523, arriving for 11am Funeral Mass, followed by a Celebration of her life and Cremation at 4pm in the Victorian Chapel, Mt. Jerome Crematorium, Harold’s Cross, D6W HY98.
