We sadly announce Timothy Christopher O'Neill, known as Ted, aged 93, passed away at home in Fort Worth, Texas, on March 12, 2025. He was born in Derrymeleen, Enniskeane, County Cork, Ireland, in 1931 to parents Felix and Bridget. He was the fourth oldest of nine children. Ted attended Farranferris College boarding school in Cork City, Ireland, and later received his engineering degree from the National University of Ireland, University College Cork. After working briefly in Ireland, he was employed in London, England, for 6 years before emigrating to the United States aboard the SS Sylvania. He arrived in New York City in 1961.
Ted worked on an impressive number of projects throughout his nearly 50-year career as a structural engineer, including Pennsylvania Station, new Madison Square Garden, the Museum of Modern Art, the World Trade Center Towers, and the U.S. Steel Building in Pittsburgh.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Ted was a devoted family man.
