Tom Fitzsimons

Raheny, Dublin

The death has occurred of Tom Fitzsimons, Raheny, Dublin 5.

Tom died peacefully on 25th June 2025 following a brave battle with cancer, in the loving arms of his wife Olive and son Robert. He was surrounded by his siblings and was in the tender loving care of the staff of St Christophers Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Unit. The family wishes to acknowledge the amazing support of St Christophers CF team and Dr Suzanne Carter and the Oncology Team under Dr Yasser Ahmed who took such great care of Tom during his illness and as a long-term CF patient. Tom’s illness was borne with such bravery and dignity.

Tom will be greatly missed by his devoted wife Olive and their cherished son Robert – he was an adored husband and father. Tom was pre-deceased by their infant son Conor. He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Brian, Maire, Fiona, Joe and Orla, parents-in-law Nicky and Monica McLoughlin, brothers and sisters in law and the wider Fitzsimons and McLoughlin families. Also by close friends Stephen Flynn, David Wade, Pat O’Connor and Colm Woods and his larger circle of friends and acquaintances.

Tom has been taken too soon but his legacy will live on, he had a great belief in living for the day and not taking life to seriously. He touched so many lives and always brought great joy and humour to his many interactions. May his beautiful soul rest in peace until we all meet again.
