Tom McElroy

Tom McElroy, Ard Easmuinn, Dundalk, passed away peacefully on 17th April 2026, while in the tender and devoted care of the staff at St. James’s Hospital Dublin, surrounded by the love and support of his family. Tom son of the late Owen and Winifred, beloved husband of the late Violet née Brennan, (June 2006), cherished father of Deirdre (Thomas), Paul (Joe), Dermot (Claire) and the late Brian, loving grandad of Cathy, Aoife, Amy, Orlaith, Lily and Ruby, brother of Maureen (McGeough), Rosaleen (Larkin), Noeleen, Andrew and the late Pat, Freda (Killian) and Owenie.

He will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his heartbroken sons, daughter, grandchildren, brother, sisters, extended family, neighbours and many friends whose lives were enriched by his kindness, warmth and gentle presence.

May Tom Rest in Peace.

Tom will repose on Sunday from 1pm until 6pm in McGeoughs Funeral Home, Jocelyn Street, Dundalk (A91 XW66). Removal on Monday morning at 10.45am from his home to the Church of the Holy Redeemer (A91 NY2Y), arriving for Funeral Mass at 11am, followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery (A91 F598).
