Peacefully, on April 3rd 2026, in the exceptional and devoted care of the staff at Oaklodge Nursing Home.

Beloved husband of the late Ita (née Coffey), Tom will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his cousins, the Coffey nephews and nieces-in-law, his kind neighbours, and wide circle of friends.

Tom was a much respected local historian with a deep passion for the heritage of Shanagarry and East Cork. He was a great supporter of East Cork GAA, particularly Russell Rovers, and devoted many years to preserving local history through his writings and publications. Tom also had a passion for Soccer and Rugby and dedicated a period of his life to restoring a farm building into a museum, reflecting his lifelong dedication to community and culture.

Tom will repose at O’Farrell’s Funeral Home, Riverside Way, Midleton, P25 X382 on Monday, 6th April from 4:30pm to 5.30pm, followed by removal to Church of The Immaculate Conception, Shanagarry.

Funeral Mass on Tuesday 7th April at 11.00am, followed by burial in Holy Rosary Cemetery, Midleton.
