The death has occurred of Tom (Thomás) Byrne, Knockroe, Castlerea, Co. Roscommon and formerly of McHale Road, Castlebar, Co. Mayo - 6th April 2026, peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the wonderful care of the staff at the Roscommon Hospice.
He is predeceased by his parents Tommy and Maggie and his sister Anne.
Tom will be sadly missed by his heartbroken children Jennifer (Reilly, Belmullet), Claire (London), and Tommy (Dublin), adored grandchildren Ella and Daithí, brothers Seamus, Liam, Sean, Padraig and Brendan, his sister Ena (Tobin), son-in-law David, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends.

Reposing at Gaynor’s Funeral Home, The Square, Castlerea (F45 HH24) on Wednesday evening from 5pm to 7pm.
Funeral arriving at St. Patrick’s Church, Castlerea, for Mass of the Resurrection at 11am on Thursday. Burial afterwards in Castlebar New Cemetery (travelling via McHale Rd)
Tom’s funeral Mass will be live-streamed on St. Patrick’s Church webcam
