The death has occurred of 'Nanny T', Treasa Walsh (nee Gallagher), of Charlies, Currane, Achill, Co. Mayo, on 5th February 2024, peacefully at home in the presence of her devoted husband Pat, loving family and sister Lucy. Lovingly remembered by her children, Geralyn, Mary, Martina, Peter and Treasa Óg. Her enthusiasm, wisdom and zest for life will be deeply missed by all, especially her cherished grandchildren, Sam, Jack, Chris, Rían, Emily, Lucy, Molly, Finn and Ruby She will also be deeply missed by her sons-in-law, Mick, Mike, Alan and daughter-in-law Kelly, her many nieces, nephews, col ceathracha, brothers-in-law Gene, Paddy and John, extended family and her many wonderful friends and neighbours.
She will be waked at home in Charlies, Currane, F28 TN67 from 5pm on 6th February followed by mass at 11 a.m. on Thursday, 8th February, in Our Lady Queen of the Universe Church in Currane, and burial in Achill Sound Cemetery.
Funeral Mass will be live-streamed on Muintir a Chorrain Facebook page.
Treasa's family would like to offer their deepest gratitude to Dr. Bernadette O'Leary for her care and compassion, to Roisin Lyons, Barbara Moran and the Mayo Palliative Care Team. Donations, if desired, to the Mayo Hospice.
