Una McCarthy
(née O'Connell)

McCarthy (nee O'Connell) (Hogan's Row, Kinsale) on November 20th 2025, peacefully after a short illness bravely fought in the exceptional care of the Staff in St. Finbarr's Hospital Cork and surrounded by her loving family. Una, beloved wife of the late Paddy Joe and dear mother of Paul, Seamus, Margaret (Buckley) and Padraig, and sister of the late Seamus, Jule and Philomena.

 

Sadly missed by her heartbroken family, daughters-in-law Patricia and Helen, Padraig's partner Karen, son-in-law Damien, grandchildren Amy, Lydia, Mia, Leon, Dara, Conor, Laura and Chloe, great-grandchildren Rían, Elsie and Cillian, brother Michael, sisters Clare, Frances, Angela, Eileen, Toinette, Breda and Florence, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, extended family, neighbours, relatives and her many friends.

 

Una will be lying in repose at Gabriel and O'Donovan's Funeral Home, Kinsale (eircode P17WC61) on Sunday from 5pm followed by prayers at 7pm.

 

Requiem Mass on Monday at 2pm in St. John the Baptist Church, Kinsale which will be livestreamed on www.churchservices.tv/kinsale, after which Una will be laid to rest in St. Eltin's Cemetery, Kinsale.
