Vera Hewitt (nee Hogan) Glenconnor, Clonmel, Co. Tipperary. Died on Thursday 5th March 2026, peacefully surrounded by her loving family, in the loving care of the staff of Tipperary University General Hospital.

Former Mayor of Clonmel, President of Clonmel Chamber of Commerce, Co-Founder of the South Tipperary Mental Health Association, The Tidy Towns Committee and Clonmel Bianconi Twinning Committee.

Predeceased by her husband Billy.

She will be sadly missed by her children Fiona (Hewitt-Murphy), Desmond, Sarah, Conor and Emmet. Her grandchildren Aaron, Tara, Scott, Louise, Kaitlyn, James, Rhys, Zoe and Kate. Her great-grandchildren Tadhg, Caoilinn, Odhran and Haythan. Her sisters and brothers Kathleen (Mulcahy), Frances (Clancy), Gerard, Adrian, Dermot and Martin. Her son-in-law Denis, daughters-in-law Lauren and Catriona, Sarah’s partner Ann Maria, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

Reposing at John O’Donoghue & Sons, Funeral Home (E91 PK19) from 4pm to 7pm on Sunday 8th March 2026

Requiem Mass on Monday at 12noon in St. Mary’s Church, Irishtown, Clonmel followed by burial in St. Patrick’s Cemetery.
