(née Conroy)

Mc Carthy (née Conroy) Vera. Late of Marian House, Ennis Road, Gort, Co. Galway and formerly of Kilkeedy, Tubber, Co. Clare and Royal Tara, Galway. Peacefully on the 1st of May, 2025, in the tender and exceptional care of the wonderful staff of The Brampton Care Centre, Oranmore.

Pre-deceased by her beloved husband Fursey, son Declan, by her parents Patrick & Margaret, siblings Molly, Bridie, Pappy, Charlie, Sr. Rita, Tom, John, Jim, Peter, Billy and Monica.

Cherished and much loved, Vera will be sadly missed by her loving children Colette (Galway), Corinne (Galway) and Angus (San Francisco). Fondly remembered by her sons-in-law Pat Nugent and the late Tom Mannion (R.I.P), daughters-in-law Sheila and Vivienne, treasured grandchildren Gavin , Lorcan, Linda, Shane, Cathal, Steven, Katie, Scott, Finn, Sally & Dylan and by her great- grandchildren Mia, Fiadh, Flynn, Alex, Aaron and Fallon. Deeply regretted by her nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, the extended Mc Carthy and Conroy family’s, great neighbours, former work colleaugues and many friends.

Vera will lie in repose in Seomra Ciúin, within Gort Town Hall, Church Street, Gort, (H91 E0C8) on Sunday evening, May 4th, from 4.30 pm. Removal at 6pm to St. Colmans Church Gort. Requiem Mass Monday, May 5th at 1.30pm. The funeral cortege will then travel via Ennis Road to Shannon Crematorium, Illumnagh, Shannon, Co. Clare for a committal service at 4pm. Vera’s ashes will be interred with her beloved husband Fursey in the family grave in Gort at a later date. Family flowers only please.
