Very Rev Canon Tim O'Leary

O’Leary (Mitchelstown and Coachford). On June 28th, 2020, unexpectedly, at home, Very Rev Canon Tim O’Leary, CC PE, New Square, Mitchelstown and formerly of Nadrid, Coachford.

Canon Tim was ordained in June 1958 and also served the parishes of Fermoy, Ballymacoda, Kilcorney, Doneraile and initially in Wales.

Beloved brother of Joan (Cahill) and the late Diarmuid (Dermot), brother in law to the late Frank and the late Mary.

Sadly missed by his sister, nieces, nephews, relatives, his fellow priests Canon Michael Leamy PP and Fr. Pat O’Donoghoe, his devoted housekeeper Veronica Mcauliffe, his helpers Sr. Anna Sheehy & Catherine McGrath, Bishops William Crean and John Magee, priests and religious in the Cloyne and surrounding Dioceses, his present and former parishioners and many friends.

Canon Tim will repose at the Chapel of Rest, Baldwin Street, Mitchelstown (P67 DX81) on Tuesday (30th June) from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. for anyone wishing to pay their respects (the family will not be present for this).

Canon Tim’s funeral cortege will leave the Chapel of Rest, Mitchelstown on Wednesday morning (1st July) and travel via Baldwin Street, Main Street, Church Street, Georges Street, King Street and New Square via his residence on its way to the Parish Church for Requiem Mass at 12 noon. In line with Government Covid guidelines atttendance at his Mass will be restricted but  can be viewed via live stream on http://www.mitchelstownparish.ie
