The death has occurred of Very Rev. Raymond Liddane in his 93rd year and in the 70th year of his priesthood.
After a short illness in the gentle care of the staff in University Hospital Waterford, on the 11th of January, 2025.
Fr Ray completed 45 years of service to the Parish of St. Joseph, St. Benildus and St. Mary's, Waterford
Much loved son of the late John E. and Delia Liddane, he is predeceased by his sisters Sally, Pauline, Claire and brother Alo, his niece Elizabeth Walsh, nephews David Walsh and Raymond Turner, his grand nephew Eoin Turner, grand niece Mary Walsh and great grand niece Molly, his brothers in law, Michael Turner and William Walsh.
He is missed by his loving sister Josephine Liddane, nephews Michael and John Turner, Michael and Raymond Walsh. His grand nieces and grand nephews, the Most Rev. Alphonsus Cullinan, Bishop and his fellow priests, his extended family, parishioners past and present in the Diocese of Waterford and Lismore, his many friends and kind neighbours.
Reception into St. Joseph & St. Benildus Church, Newtown, Waterford at 3.00pm on Thursday 16th January. Reposing from 3.00pm to 7.00pm followed by evening prayer at 7.00pm.
Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon on Friday 17th of January at St. Joseph & St. Benildus Church, Newtown, Waterford, followed by burial in St. Mary's Parish Cemetery, Dungarvan.
