Vince Lowney

Vince Lowney, Waterfall, Castletownbere, Co.Cork and formerly of Lickbarrahan, Cahermore passed away on the 7th April 2026 in the Palliative Care Unit of Bantry Hospital, surrounded by his family. Deeply mourned by his beloved wife Mary (née Dunne), his sons Seamus and Adrian, his much‑loved granddaughter Lorena and by Elaine (daughter‑in‑law) and Joe (Adrian’s partner). He is sadly missed by his brothers and sisters George, Pat, Mary, Sr. Patrick, Catherine (Kitty) and Martha (Chris) his brothers‑in‑law Jerry Hallisey and Dan O’Sullivan, sister‑in‑law Lucy and by Mary’s brother John Dunne, his wife Eileen, and their sons Michael, Alan and Gerard. Fondly remembered by all his nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Predeceased by his brothers John, Jimmy (James) and Michael. Above all, Vince was a family man, a lifelong farmer, a former fisherman and a friend to many.

Reposing In Harrington’s Funeral Home, Castletownbere on Friday (10th) from 5pm - 7pm followed by removal to Vince’s home.

HOUSE PRIVATE.

Requiem mass will take place in The Church Of The Sacred Heart, Castletownbere on Saturday (11th) at 12 midday followed by his final trip and around the pier before burial in Cahermore Cemetery.

Funeral cortège will leave Vince’s home at approximately 11.30am.
Family flowers only, donations if desired to Bantry Palliative Care, who provided exceptional care and comfort to Vince and his family in his final days.
