Violet Gavin

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Violet Gavin, who died peacefully on Tuesday morning, 19th August, at the wonderful age of 91. She is at last reunited with our sister, Anne Marie.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her — especially her nine surviving children; Bridgey, Leo, Coey, Roisin, Triona, Finto, John, Paul & Jimmy, their partners and her many grandchildren

(who were never allowed to call her “Granny”!)

Violet will be fondly remembered by all who knew her for her warmth, wit, unstoppable energy and love of board games.

Violet will repose in the Cillín within The Church of Mary Immaculate Queen, Barna, Thursday, 21st August, from 4pm, with removal into the church at 6pm.

Her Funeral Mass will take place there on Friday, 22nd August, at 12noon.

Funeral afterwards to The New Cemetery, Bohermore where Violet will be laid to rest beside her daughter Anne Marie.
