Vonnie Smith

Smith, Vonnie (Veronica) passed away peacefully on 30th January 2026 after a long illness borne with immense courage, strength and dignity. Vonnie spent her final days surrounded by her loving family in the extraordinary care of the staff of St. Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown.

Predeceased by her devoted parents Tom and Bridie. Vonnie is sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her adoring children Sorcha and Cian, sisters Mary and Nuala, brother Brendan, Sorcha’s fiancé Eibhin, Cian’s girlfriend Eva, her brothers-in-law Paul and Butch, nieces Orla, Ruth, Jan, Sinead, Aisling and Ciara, nephews Niall, Matt and Eoin, extended family, huge circle of supportive and loving friends and neighbours, and beloved dog Angel.

"Everything has a time, our time is now. To live our lives every minute, every hour, every day, every year. Now is the time to live the lives we have been gifted with."

Reposing at the Fanagan Kirwan Funeral Home (Eircode D03EC52) on Thursday evening 5th February from 5pm to 7pm.

The celebration of Vonnie’s life will take place on Friday 6th February at 1.30pm in Dardistown Crematorium (Eircode K67HP26).

Bright attire encouraged.
