It is with deep sadness we announce the death of William Ahern, Ballyvolane, Cork, who passed away on 14th March 2026 peacefully after a short illness fought with courage and dignity surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful and exceptional care of the staff at Mercy University Hospital.
William (Willie) former Sergeant in Collins Barracks, Cork and late of Clancy St, Fermoy. Dearly beloved husband of Margaret (Née McCarthy),
devoted father of James, William, Margaret and Linda, grandchildren Harley, Adam, Abbie, Anne, Jimmy, Niamh, Robert, great grandchildren Eden and CC. Predeceased by his grandson Timothy and his brother Jimmy.
Sadly missed by his wife and his loving family, daughter-in-law Norma, sons-in-law Joe and Jason, brothers-in-law, sister-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and large circle of friends.

Reposing at Keohane’s Funeral Home, Knights Hill, Old Youghal Road, Mayfield, Cork, on Tuesday (St. Patrick’s Day) the 17th March 2026, from 3-4pm, with prayers at 3:45pm.
Requiem Mass on Wednesday 18th March 2026 at 12.00noon in St. Oliver’s Church, Ballyvolane, which will be live-streamed at the following link: Here followed by cremation at The Island Crematorium, Ringaskiddy
