William (Bill) GAINE

William J. Gaine (Bill), (London, Dublin and New York City), Bill Gaine died suddenly in New York City on 17 March 2019. He was born in London in 1955 and moved to Dublin along with his family in 1969. On leaving school he trained as a chef and worked in many parts of Ireland before moving to New York City in 1977, where he lived until his death. He loved cooking for family and friends, travelling, music, Kerry football, Manchester United, Christmas in Ireland and Saratoga racetrack in upstate New York anytime in August. Bill is now at peace with his father William Gaine, mother Kathleen (née Dolan) and sister, Mary. He is loved and deeply missed by his life partner Anne, her sister Kathy, her brother John and her mother Sheila. His sisters Kathleen, Bridget and Debbie, and brothers, Sean, Seamus and Eddie. Nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends on both sides of the Atlantic.

Funeral Mass will take place on Thursday 28th March 2019 at 10am in St. Fintan’s Church, Sutton, Dublin. Burial to follow in Balgriffin Cemetery. Donations in lieu of flowers to the Alzheimer Society of Ireland.
