William (Billy) Burns

Formerly of St. Congall's Parish, Bangor, Co. Down. Former player with Sligo Rovers Football Club. Billy, peacefully, at Sligo University Hospital in the exceptional care of the doctors, nurses and staff of the Emergency Department and Medical North. 

Loving husband of Geraldine Burns and loving and devoted father of Julie, Gary, Michelle and Chris. Loving grandfather of Naoimh, Erin, Casimir, Emmet, Cormac, Jack and Leo. Dearly missed by his loving wife, children, grandchildren, brother Ronnie Burns, sons-in-law Bill and JP, daughter-in-law Hayley, relatives, friends and neighbours.

Funeral Mass and burial will be strictly private for family and relatives only. House strictly private, please. Due to the current government and H.S.E. guidelines regarding the Coronavirus and large public gatherings in the interest of public health we will be unable to have a traditional funeral at this time. Those who would have liked to attend the funeral, but due to current restrictions cannot, please leave a message in the ‘condolences’ section below.

Months Mind Mass for Billy will be celebrated online in Sligo Cathedral on Saturday 18th April at 7:00pm.
