The death has occurred of William J. (Bill) Herlihy. Retired Chief Superintendent An Garda Siochana, Monkstown, Co. Dublin and formerly of Inchigeelagh, Co. Cork, Artane, Dublin and Carlow Town. Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family in the exceptional care of the staff in Kilbrew Nursing Home, Ashbourne. Reunited with his beloved wife Lorraine. Loving dad of Jackie and Sharon, father-in-law of John, adored grandad of Dillon, Katie, Aisling. Zoe and Daniel. Predeceased by his brothers Johnny, Finbarr, Pat and by his sister Joan. Bill will be sadly missed by his family, Sharon’s partner Ute, sisters-in-law Nora and Maureen, brother-in- law John, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Reposing at his daughter Jackie’s residence, 31 Fairyhouse Lodge, Ratoath, Co. Meath from 5pm until 8pm on Thursday. Funeral Mass on Friday at 10am in St. Patrick’s Church, Monkstown followed by burial in St. Declan’s Cemetery, Ashbourne.
