William Jacobus Cummins Verhulst,
Terneuzen, the Netherlands 23 August 1946 - Fanore, Ireland 15 January 2026
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Willem Verhulst, from Fanore, Co. Clare, who died suddenly at home on the 15th of January 2026.
Originally from the Netherlands, Willem will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his wife, Ans van de Giessen, his daughter Suzanne Verhulst, and his extended family both in Ireland and abroad.
A funeral service will be held at St. Patrick's Church, Fanore on Saturday 24th of January 2026 at 12 o'clock. Followed by private Cremation
Willem held a deep affection for Irish traditional music, and found in the music a sense of belonging, joy, and connection to the community he made his home.
We would like to invite everyone who knew him to come and celebrate his life and love for music.
