William (Liam) Whelan

Formerly of Magheranearla, Eyrecourt, Ballinasloe, Galway.

It is with great sadness that Liam’s family share the news of his passing at home unexpectedly on Sunday, 3 December, 2023. Predeceased by his beloved wife Moira. Deeply loved and mourned by his four children Avril, Karena, Leona and Fergus, son-in-law Kevin, daughter-in-law Serena, grandchildren Cillian and Fiadh, his siblings Oliver, Brenda, Maureen, Geraldine and Dermot, nieces and nephews. He will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all the family and his many friends.

Liam will repose at ‘St. Pio’s Room’ within the Church of the Sacred Heart, Seamus Quirke Road on Wednesday evening, 6 December, from 5.30 p.m. with Removal at 7.00 p.m. to the Church. Requiem Mass will be celebrated for Liam on Thursday, 7 December, at 10 a.m. and following Mass he will be laid to rest in Rahoon Cemetery.
