Acknowledgement & First Anniversary

As we mark the first anniversary of Gina's passing, Tim Sheehan,  Gina's brothers and sisters, Simone, Denis, Sharon and Graham Herbert and her uncles John Kelly and George Herbert would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us on our sad loss, sent Mass cards and offered messages of sympathy and attended the removal and funeral.   We are especially grateful to our extended families, friends and neighbours for their kindness and generosity.  

 

A special thank you to the emergency services, the first responder, the paramedics, An Garda Síochanna,  the fire brigade, the staff of Cork University Hospital, and to the doctors and nurses, for the dedicated care they provided to Gina. A special thank you to the bereavement team at CUH for their compassion and kindness to Tim and to the catering staff at CUH for their practical support which was very much appreciated.

 

We would like to offer a special word of thanks to the community nursing team who provided very dedicated care and support to Gina throughout her illness.

 

We offer heartfelt gratitude to Donna and the staff at St. Patrick's Upton for the exceptional care and support provided to Simone in the days directly after Gina's passing, for the support provided to her during the removal and funeral and for the ongoing care and support Simone and Denis receive on a daily basis we are extremely grateful.

 

A special word of thanks to Alice Kerstien for her kindness and friendship to Simone and Denis in the direct aftermath of Gina's passing. A special thank you to Mikaela for her kindness to Simone and Denis.

 

A special word of thanks to everyone who delivered food to the families after Gina's passing and throughout the funeral.

 

A special word of thanks to Tim's work colleagues for the patience, understanding and support shown at this very sad and difficult time. Your kindness and understanding will never be forgotten.

 

A special word of thanks to Fr. Alan O'Leary for the pastoral care provided to Simone, Denis and Tim and for officiating at a beautiful and personal funeral Mass  and to Fr. Marius O'Reilly for attending from South Parish and concelebrating.

 

We would like to offer a special thank you to Sacristan Geraldine,  Gina's uncle John Kelly and his daughter Sinead for reading and partaking in the delivery of the prayers of the faithful., To Linda Kenny and her accompanient for their beautiful music that made the Mass so special.

 

A special thank you to Gina's Niece who delivered a beautiful piece of music remotely from Italy,  which was really special.

 

A special word of thanks to Forde's funeral home for their guidance and professionalism shown to us during our most difficult time.

 

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude. 

 

Mass has been offered for your intentions.

 

Gina will be remembered at the 5pm Mass on Saturday evening in St. Finbarr's South Roman Catholic Church, Dunbar St. T12 X21 and on Sunday at Catholic Church of Christ our light, Ballincollig at 12:30pm.  P31 HW74

 

It broke our hearts to lose you Gina,

But you did not go alone

A part of us went with you
