Acknowledgement and First Anniversary
As we lovingly remember our beautiful mother MILLIE, her children Ann, Peter, John, Kieran, and Elizabeth along with her grandchildren, Kieran, Aoife, Eoin, Caoimhe, Kate, her daughters-in-law Mary, Rita, her nieces and nephews, and her extended family would like to thank all those who through their kind expressions of sympathy, care and support helped and comforted us in our time of deep sorrow and loss.
We remember with gratitude those thoughtful neighbours and friends who lined Rathmore Lawn and Rhodaville to honour Millie’s funeral cortege as well as those who participated in Requiem Mass, by either attending at the church grounds or by livestream. All messages on RIP.ie were meaningful gifts gladly welcomed during this period. Sincere appreciation to those who sent texts, Mass cards, made donations to charity and those who called in person to her residence.
We wish to especially thank Canon Teddy O’Sullivan PP Douglas/Rochestown who officiated with great understanding and guidance at Millie’s funeral rites and Fr.Kevin O’Regan PP Frankfield/Grange who administered the Sacraments to Mum before her passing.Our grateful appreciation also to Sr.Betty of Marie Reparatrix Convent who kindly visited Millie regularly during her illness.
Sincere thanks also to Drs. Eilis and Jerome Murphy and Dr. Maria Mclaughlin from Turners Cross Medical Centre who attended to Millie over many years with an admirable level of care and professionalism.
In her latter years, we could not have managed without the help provided by the HSE local services and staff, and we thank the District Nurse Martina, and all the Community Care Service staff who helped Mum with her day-to-day living. A particular thanks to her long – term caregiver Linda, as well as to each of the many supportive home-care professionals who offered kind and gentle assistance to Mum. Sincere thanks to the Marymount Hospice team who provided invaluable assistance during Millie’s final days.
To Jerh. O’Connor Funeral Directors, we are grateful for the reassuring advice and discreet professional service provided.
The tender tributes and wonderful singing from her nieces Frances and Margot, her grand-daughter Kate at Douglas Church and Michael's graveside ballad at St. Finbarr’s Cemetery added a silver thread of peace and beauty that helped ease the pain of our loss.
To everyone who offered thoughts and words of love and prayer quietly in their own way, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our sincere appreciation to you all. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
Millie was pre-deceased by her loving husband Tom and by her older siblings, May, Alice, Jenny, Madge, Robert, and Jack Cuthbert.
Always Loving, Always Caring, Never Despairing;
