 Anthony (Tony) Egan

Ballinoe, Miltown Malbay, Clare / Ennistymon, Clare

We, the family of our beloved Tony, would like to express our sincere appreciation to all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss.  To our wonderful families, neighbours, work colleagues and friends for all their support.  To everyone who prayed for Tony, sent Mass and sympathy cards, telephoned, sent texts, online condolences and who donated to Milford Care Centre.  We will be forever grateful to all Tony’s friends, neighbours and colleagues who were a tremendous support to him and us throughout his illness.  To the many friends and neighbours who lined the route of Tony’s final journey to Ennistymon church and afterwards from the church to his final resting place in Ballard Cemetery, your presence and support was felt and greatly appreciated.  A huge thank you to SPA Transport and Doolin Harley Fest Bikers who led Tony’s cortege and to all his fellow truckers who formed a guard of honour along the route, Tony would have been so proud.  To the pupils, staff, parents and Board of Management, Rockmount National School, thank you for your continued support. Thank you to Fr. Martin Shanahan who visited Tony at home.

To everyone who cared for Tony during his illness; Dr. Kelleher and staff, Marie Kelly Pharmacy and staff, Dr. Osmond and staff, Oncology Unit, Eileen Williams and Milford Pallitive Care Nurses Ennis and PHN’s.  A special thank you to Dr. Val O’Reilly and all the wonderful doctors, nurses and staff in Milford Care Centre for the outstanding kindness and care shown to Tony and to us in his final weeks.

Thank you to Fr. Donagh O’Meara for his kindness and support and for celebrating Tony’s Mass so meaningfully.  To Tony’s lifelong friends James and Enda for their wonderful music and singing. A huge thank you to Eugene Drennan for his sincere and heartfelt eulogy at Tony’s mass and for his tremendous support throughout.  To Fr. Willie Cummins and to sacristan, Noel McMahon. To the undertaker James O’Friel and James McMahon for their professionalism, kindness and care and to John and Liam for preparing Tony’s final resting place.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Tony’s Months Mind Mass will be celebrated on 1st May at 10am in St Joseph’s Church, Miltown Malbay via webcam only at miltownmalbayparish.ie
