The family of BARRY (and his late wife, Anne) - his daughters Yvonne, Fionnuala, Trióna, Eimear, Deirdre, Eilish and Katie, his partner Elizabeth Morley, his sister Maureen (Fitzgerald), brothers Liam and Denis, sons-in-law, grandchildren and extended family would like to sincerely thank all those who sympathised with us on our sad loss and supported us over the last year.
Thank you to Dad’s many friends and relatives for their kindness and generosity, who called to Granasig, made phone calls, dropped off food or attended his Rosary, Removal or Funeral Mass. We were deeply moved by the volume of online tributes, Mass cards, sympathy cards, perpetual enrolments, condolences, letters and floral tributes received.
We will forever remember our wonderful neighbours and friends who lit up the townlands of Granasig and Coolmain with candlelight on his final journey from his beloved farm to Kilbrittain.
A special thank you to the entire local community and all those who formed Guards of Honour, stretching the full length of Kilbrittain village; Kilbrittain- Timoleague Camogie Club, Kilbrittain GAA, Gurraneasig N.S., Bandon Rugby Club, IFA and Fine Gael.
A sincere thank you to Fr. Jeremiah Cremin for all his support and kindness, to Fr Michael O’Mahony for his beautiful and personal Funeral Mass along with Fr. Jim Kelleher and Fr. Bertie O’Mahony. Many thanks to Carmel, the Kilbrittain Choir and solo singers for the beautiful music and singing at his Funeral and Month’s Mind Masses.
Thank you to Foley Funeral Directors, Timoleague, especially John Michael and Denise for their professionalism, compassion and reassuring guidance throughout Dad’s funeral and the Lordan family at the Speckled Door, Garrettstown for accommodating everyone after his burial.
To Dr. Mary Roycroft, Dr. Brian Bird and Dr. Michael Henry; thank you for all your care for Dad throughout his prolonged illness. Sincere thanks to the hospital staff at CUH and especially the Bon Secours Hospital, who did everything possible during the COVID pandemic for us to be with him during his final days.
His Anniversary Mass will be held today (Saturday) February 11th at 7pm, St. Patrick’s Church, Kilbrittain. We, his family, hope that this acknowledgement will be taken as a sincere token of our appreciation. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intention.
