First Anniversary, Died April 23rd. 2020

As we lovingly remember Barry on his first anniversary , his wife Marion, children Anna, Fia and Johnnie, parents Mary and Seán, siblings Denise, Marie and David. Parents-in-law Sheila and Kevin, sister's and brother's in law, Aunts, Uncles, nieces , nephews and extended family wish to express their gratitude to all who sympathised with us on our sad loss.

We wish to thank everyone for their love and friendship to Barry, especially his close friends and family who provided daily support and care while he was sick. His colleagues Dr. Larry Jordan, principal Mr. David Lordan, staff and students at CBC Cork for their support and kindness, Muskerry and Bantry rugby clubs, Blarney Soccer and GAA clubs who were loyal friends.

We are grateful to all those who sent letters and cards with such kind words, and to the neighbours and friends who were so supportive to us in Glengarriff.

Thanks to all the health care professionals who took great care of Barry during his illness. His local doctors Aisling and Jeremy, his oncologists Dr. Derek Power and Dr. O Mahony, Glengarriff pharmacy for their care, to Dr. Peter O Sullivan who restored his voice. A special thanks to Professor Tony O Brien, and the staff on St. Christopher's ward at Marymount for their care, kindness and compassion shown to Barry and his family. His mother-in-law Sheila was such great support to Barry, Marion and family.

Thanks to Fr. Joe Begley,  Fr. Brian O Sullivan and Barry's colleague Michael O Donnell for their supportive words at the funeral Mass. We are grateful for the professionalism of Coakley funeral home Bantry at a difficult time. Thanks to David Lordan and to Fr. Roche for a beautiful memorial Mass at Fermoy church.

To those who expressed their wish to attend Barry’s funeral but were unable to due to the first lockdown, thank you.

Please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt gratitude. A Mass will be offered for your intentions on Sunday, 25th April, at 10am, Blarney.
