Acknowledgement and Month's Mind Mass

The family of the late Bernadette Connolly née Farrell, who passed away peacefully on 29/12/25, would like to express our deepest gratitude to all those who sympathised and supported us following our sad loss. Thank you to those who sent Mass/sympathy cards, made telephone calls, text messages, travelled long distances and who offered condolences and thoughtful tributes on RIP.ie.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many family, friends and neighbours who visited our home, attended the wake, the funeral Mass and burial and who provided emotional and practical support to us at this difficult time. We extend our sincere appreciation to our neighbours and friends that helped at both the house and with traffic management ensuring everything ran smoothly during the wake and the funeral.

Thanks to the staff at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital, Drogheda, for the care they provided to Bernadette in her final weeks. Our sincere thanks to all the dedicated carers who looked after Bernadette at home throughout her illness, we will be forever grateful. A special thanks to the staff at St Mary's Hospital for the unconditional care they gave to Bernadette during her visits there.

Our sincere gratitude to Fr. Owen Gorman, Fr. Michael Daly, Fr. Charles Connolly (who travelled from Galway), and Deacon Martin Brennan, who celebrated Bernadette's Funeral Mass with such warmth and a personal touch that reflected Bernadette's strong faith. A word of thanks to the singer Marie Fox and to the musicians for the beautiful music. Thanks to our Sacristan Theresa Sewell, readers, gifts bearers and Eucharistic Ministers. Your help and support was much appreciated. Thank you to those who lined the route to the church to pay their respects and to those who stood in guards of honour.

Thanks to Ward's Funeral Directors, Ballybay, for their caring professionalism and support in arranging the funeral, also to the gravediggers for preparing the grave for Bernadette's final resting place.

Thank you to Doohamlet Community Centre for the lovely catering provided after the funeral.

A special word of thanks to Dr. Mary Flanagan and staff and to Leavy's Pharmacy, Castleblayney for their exceptional care and kindness. Thank you to all the staff in Community and Primary Care, the Mental Health Team, Public Health Nurses, Home Support, Podiatry, Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy and Speech and Language Therapy who have been a huge support and always so helpful. A special thanks to the Priests and Deacons who visited Bernadette over the years, both in hospital and at home.

Thanks to Suzanne from Budz for the flower arrangements and to everyone who made donations to the patient comfort fund at St. Mary's Castleblayney.

We sincerely thank each and every person who helped and supported our family in any way. The kindness and comfort shown to us during our bereavement will always be appreciated. As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
