First Anniversary and Acknowledgement

We, the family of the late Brian Cahill would like to thank most sincerely all of those who sympathised and supported us during the time of Daddy’s funeral. We received so many messages of support, by emails, text messages, phone calls, online messages on RIP.ie and Mass Cards, and for all of these we are very grateful.

We would like to thank all the people who stood out and lined the roads in different places on a very wet and cold evening as Daddy made his final journey from Tullamore to Belmont and those who supported us in Prayer when we arrived in Belmont. We thank all the kind people who brought food to us in Tullamore hospital and to the house. Also, thank you to the large crowd who took part in the guards of honour from the village to the church in High Street on the morning of Daddy's funeral and to all who attended the graveyard for the burial.  The large crowd was comforting to us and a testament to the popular man he was. Thank you!

Thank you to all who provided medical care for Daddy, his GP, Dr Niall O Brien, the fantastic staff of Tullamore General Hospital, Public health nurses from Ferbane Health Centre, Joan, Tom and all the staff in Hennessy's Pharmacy in Banagher. Last but certainly not least all Daddy's exceptional carers who helped the family care for him in the comfort of his own home for so long. We will be forever grateful to you all.

Thank you to Fr Michael Morris for his monthly visits to our house, also, to Fr Peter Burke and Fr Pat Browne who assisted Fr Michael in concelebrating Daddy’s funeral Mass.  Thank you to Denise for her beautiful singing enhancing the celebration. Thank you to Nuala and Christina our Sacristans who prepared the church.  To all who helped prepare the grave, thank you.

We would not be able to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a token of our gratitude and appreciation.

Mass will be offered in High Street on Sunday, 27th November, at 12 noon to celebrate Daddy’s first Anniversary.
