On this Richard’s first anniversary, his family wish to offer heartfelt thanks to relatives, neighbours and friends who attended his wake and Funeral Mass, who all provided emotional and practical support at this very difficult time. A special thanks to Dr. Susan Cavanagh for her amazing support which enabled Richard to be cared for at home, to the kind and cheerful HSE carers, to Nessa Long, Physiotherapist who added so much to Richard’s comfort. 

 

To Christy Iwa who is an amazing generous carer, thank you Mike for the many hours of fun with Richard. To Nurse Paula, the Bons Palliative Care Team who professionally sent Richard gently on his way. Fr. Teddy, thank you for such a lovely and personal Mass. To Michael Harty and Susan Mannion O’Brien whose music and singing was so lovely and enriched our celebration of Holy Mass. To Fr. Chris who sent Richard safely home, thanks also to the American Legion for attending and providing Richard with his much-loved American Flag. To Anthony and Hyde’s Funeral Directors for their help and guidance.

 

Richard’s anniversary mass will be celebrated at St. Columba’s Church, Douglas on Friday, January 5th, at 6pm which will be livestreamed using this link Richard's Anniversary Mass.  

 

As it is impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our heartfelt thanks. Holy Mass will be offered for your intentions.
