The family of the late Carmel Morrissey (nee Ryan) of Ebenezer Terrace, Dublin 8 wish to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures of kindness shown to us during and following our sad loss. We offer our heartfelt thanks to the many friends, neighbours and relatives who lined the streets of The Tenters, Meath St, New St and Clanbrassil St to give Carmel the send off she deserved. To all of those from the Iveagh Trust, Kavanaghs, Taking Liberties for Local Charities, Peadar Browns and the Harold House. Also to those who were cocooning or unable to join us in person but did so via livestream.
Our sincere thanks to those who sent messages from near and far. To see the beautiful words expressing gratitude for Carmel's kindness to them over the years , raised our spirits during this difficult time. So many had wonderful anecdotes of Carmel's super power - to fill a room with love and joy wherever she went and to stop and chat with all who crossed her path, leaving them feeling that they were the better for having met her.
We would also like to sincerely thank all at Rom Masseys who brought such warmth to Carmel's mass service and funeral cortege. To all who participated in Carmel's celebration of life with balloons claps, cheers and song (we were singing in the sunshine instead of in the rain 'a roo cha cha') and a special thank you to June & Nuala O'Reilly of The Business Depot.
As it would be impossible to thank everybody individually, we hope that this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our sincere appreciation on this day, Carmel's month's mind, which will be celebrated by her family at one of her special places - The Grotto, Meath St. We plan to have a larger celebration of Carmel's life once we get through the other side of this pandemic and we openly invite all who loved her to attend, you all know Carnel enjoyed a get together! With our sincere gratitude and in great appreciation - The Morrissey Family'.
