Ciaran Carragher

 Ciaran Carragher

Annyalla, Monaghan

We the family of the late Ciaran Carragher, Castleblayney, Co. Monaghan and Perth, Australia wish to express our heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to all our relatives, friends and neighbours and to all who visited us and sympathised with us in our huge loss of our son, brother, husband, father, uncle, brother-in-law, nephew, cousin and friend.

We would like to thank all our extended family, friends and neighbours who helped during the Wake and Funeral. We thank all those who called to the house, some travelling long distances, those who attended his Funeral, sent Mass cards, letters, left online condolences, phoned or text. Your support and messages gave us great support and comfort and we are deeply grateful to you all.

We thank those who helped get the lane ready and the parking of the cars. To the ladies who made us hearty dinners and refreshments and endless cups of tea over the few weeks and ensured we were well supported, we are truly grateful.

A huge thanks to Cremartin GAA for organising a Go-Fund-Me and to the people of the GAA Community, and surrounding areas who donated to this fund to allow us to travel to and from Australia, we are eternally grateful to everyone. A huge thanks to Mark Clifford of O’Hanrahan Travel for arranging flights for the family to and from Perth. A huge thanks to Ciaran’s friend Breen who travelled with the family to support them and to pay tribute to Ciaran in Perth.

Many thanks to Conor Hughes of Hughes Funeral Directors Castleblayney who assisted in every way possible and provided a dignified and respectful service over the number of weeks of Ciaran’s Wake and conducted a beautiful funeral in Annyalla. Conor along with Darren provided beautiful Mass booklets on the day.

We would like to express our gratitude to Fr. Stephen Duffy and Gary Carville who called to the house and the honourable gesture of prayers before we travelled the long distance to Perth. Thanks for a lovely and well-organised Funeral Mass in Annyalla.

We  thank Ciaran’s friends and colleagues in Australia, the Irish and Thai Community and everyone who knew Ciaran (Joe) and assisted us with our bereavement whilst in Perth. This includes Jodie and her team at Simplicity Funerals, Ellenbrook, Australia, Celebrant Kevin Clune who spoke very highly of Joe and conducted a beautiful service at Pinnaroo Valley Memorial Park.  Also, a huge thanks to our extended family who travelled the long distance across Australia to be by our side in our time of need.

We extend our deep appreciation to those who helped with Ciaran’s Funeral Mass in Annyalla. This includes Catherine Hughes and Dermott McCusker for their beautiful music and hymns that were sung during the Funeral Mass. To Ann McDonald for the beautiful, personalised altar cloth and flower arrangements for the church. To Cremartin Shamrocks and O’Neill Shamrocks for the guard of honour in club colours, this meant a lot to the family to see you there. To the grave diggers, readers and gift bearers, Eucharistic ministers and to Dermott Carragher for the playing of the bag pipes. To Cremartin Shamrocks for the use of their premises after the Funeral and to Aidan Fitzpatrick for providing the food and refreshments.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, we hope this acknowledgement will signify our heartfelt appreciation to everyone who helped us in any way over the last number of difficult weeks.
