The family of the late Claire Shannon, The View, Millmount Abbey, Drogheda, who passed away peacefully on 2nd November 2021, would like to acknowledge the many expressions of sympathy and gestures shown to us on our great loss. We greatly appreciate the phone calls, messages, cards, flowers, condolences on RIP.ie and other kind gestures shown to us by family, friends and colleagues.

A special word of thanks to all the members of the Palliative care team and the wonderful nursing staff in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital for the exceptional care, respect and kindness shown to Claire from the time she was admitted to the hospital.

We would especially like to express our heartfelt thanks to all Claire’s colleagues and friends in Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and others who came out to show their respect outside the hospital, along the route from Townley’s Funeral Home to the church and from the church to Claire’s home in Millmount Abbey,  we were overwhelmed.

Claire’s faith gave her a lot of strength throughout her life. Thanks to Fr Ciprian for such a lovely Mass and to Claire’s friend Una for the beautiful music. Thanks also to Townley’s Funeral Directors for handling all of Claire's funeral arrangements with such respect.

 As it is impossible to thank everybody individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our heartfelt appreciation. Claire’s month's mind Mass will be held on Sunday, 5th December, at 12 noon in St Mary’s Parish Church, Drogheda.
