Oakfield Green, Glanmire, Cork

The family of the late Colette Mc Carthy, Oakfield Green, Glanmire who died on 27th January 2021, wish to acknowledge all those who supported our family in so many ways following our heartbreaking loss.

As we lovingly remember Colette on the first anniversary of her passing, her loving husband George and her beloved children Jake, Jesse and Cerys, together with Colette’s mother Biddy and our families would like to express our sincere thanks and gratitude to all who sympathised with us on our devastating loss. We thank you all for the many mass cards, letters and messages of sympathy and condolence that we received, both at home and on the RIP.ie website. These were a great source of comfort to us at the time of Colette’s passing.

We thank those who gave of their time to help and comfort our family over the past year, those who prepared cooked meals for us, delivered groceries and who washed school uniforms. We thank you all for your countless kind gestures both at the time of Colette’s passing and on an ongoing basis.

We also extend our gratitude to the teachers and staff of Riverstown National School, the coaches and members of Glanmire Ladies Basketball Club & Glanmire Ladies Football Club for your continued help, encouragement and support for Cerys.

We are most grateful to the consultants, doctors, nurses and staff of the Bons Secours Hospital and Marymount Hospital & Hospice for the exceptional and loving care that Colette received throughout her illness. A special thanks also to Dr Heather Clarke and the staff of Glanmire Medical Centre and everybody at Phelans Pharmacy Glanmire for their help and assistance.

We offer our heartfelt thanks to our family members, relatives, dear friends, neighbours, work colleagues and school friends who attended the removal, the funeral mass in person or who watched online and to those who attended the cremation service at a time when everything was more difficult because of the pandemic. We thank Jerh O’ Connor  Funeral Home Glanmire for their exemplary advice, service and professionalism, Fr Newman for the lovely mass, Fiona O’ Reilly for the beautiful hymns, Gerald Mc Carthy Memorials for the exquisite memorial  headstone and Chris for the elegant memorial cards.

Colette was a loving and much loved wife, mother, daughter, sister, a cherished friend, a vibrant and charismatic woman with great empathy for others and a great sense of humour who brightened the day for all who knew her. Colette will always be remembered and the many memories we have of Colette will be an inspiration to us throughout our lives.

May her gentle soul rest in eternal peace.
