The family of the late Damien McGroarty, of 3 Assumption Place, Cobh, Co. Cork, who passed away on 20th September 2024, wish to express their heartfelt gratitude to all who sympathised with them during their great loss.
We extend our sincere thanks to the many friends, neighbours, and well-wishers who visited our home, attended the wake, service, and cremation, and supported us during this difficult time. To those who called, travelled long distances, sent cards, and messages of condolence, or made charitable donations in Damien’s memory, your kindness will never be forgotten.
A special word of thanks goes to Damien’s incredible home help, Martina, his GP, Dr. Paul McDonald, his dedicated district nurses, the staff at the Mercy Hospital, Ticknock Pharmacy, and the numerous health care professionals whose care and attention brought great comfort. We are especially grateful to our wonderful neighbours, Robert and Rose, who went above and beyond to assist during Damien’s illness and have been a constant source of support since his passing.
To the members of the O.N.E. and I.U.N.V.A. for their guard of honour. To James, Sam and Morgan at Cahill's Undertakers for their exceptional professionalism. To Fr. Gerard Cremin for his kindness and compassion. To Caroline Fraher and Alan Carney for their wonderful music. To the staff at Cobh Ramblers for their generosity.
As it would be impossible to thank each person individually, please accept this acknowledgement as a heartfelt expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.
The First Anniversary Mass for Damien will take place on Saturday, 20th September, at 6pm in St. Colman’s Cathedral, Cobh. All are warmly welcome to join us in remembering Damien.
