David Cantwell

 David Cantwell

Derrycastle, Ballina, Tipperary / Dundrum, Dublin / Camolin, Wexford

On the first anniversary of David's death, his wife Carol-Anne, son Brandon, mother Aga, brothers Alan & Stephen, mother-in-law Mary, sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, his friends and extended family, would like to thank all those who sympathised with them on their sad loss.  Thanks to our wider families, many wonderful friends, neighbours and colleagues who helped and supported us, those who attended the funeral, sent cards, messages and letters of sympathy, including those from friends in Schull, where David spent so many happy times. We really appreciate David's former neighbours, colleagues and students, who took the time to share their memories of David, for their comments on his work and kindness and other tributes.

Thank you to the staff and students of UL for their consistent support and kindness to Carol-Anne, to Margaret Meagher for her support and for her care for Brandon, and to the staff of Caterpillars, Newport.

We are very grateful to all who looked after David and who supported us – the staff of Milford Hospice Limerick, University Hospital Limerick, the Mater Hospital Dublin, Dr Paul O’Farrell Nenagh, the community nursing team Nenagh, Grogan’s pharmacy Ballina, Shannon Doc and paramedics and ambulance personnel.

A special thanks to Fr Odhran Furlong for his thoughtful and eloquent celebration of the funeral and to Fr Dermot Gahan for concelebrating. We thank Bow Musique for the beautiful musical accompaniment, which was a fitting tribute to David's lifelong passion for classical music.  Sincere thanks to Meehan’s funeral home Newport, Tipperary for their kindness, thoughtfulness and professionalism with the removal and funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our sincere gratitude.
