Deirdre Hunt

 Deirdre Hunt
(née Patterson)

Formerly of the Huntsman, Waterville, Kerry / Dublin

A year has passed since our dear Mom, Deirdre, found final peace after a long struggle with illness. As we lovingly remember our Mom at this time, we, her children and families, would like to express our heartfelt gratitude and love to all those who offered support and sympathy during a difficult time.

Due to Covid-19 regulations in force at that time our full family was unable to gather. This was very difficult for our extended family and friends but of particular heartbreak for our sister Nicole and her family, our Mom’s siblings Liam, Frank, and Miriam and their families, and our Dad’s siblings Desmond, Kate, Alan, and Miriam and their families. Although you could not be there with us in person, know that you were all in our thoughts at that time.

To all our family, neighbours and friends who were with us outside our home to send Deirdre on her final journey, and those of you who stood outside the church and at the cemetery: we were so very touched and thank you for your support. To those who were unable to travel but expressed their support in other ways, please know that we were greatly moved by the volume of letters, sympathy cards and personal messages received.

To Fr. Finucane, thank you for the very sincere and thoughtful funeral mass. Thank you also for the house visits which we know brought great comfort to our Mom, and which she treasured.

We would like to acknowledge the HSE Home Support Service team who gave such wonderful care and support during our mother’s final years. Your kindness, professionalism, and generosity will never be forgotten. In addition, we are very grateful to local GP services and the local Public Health Nurses and their wider public health care teams, who were always available and giving with advice when needed.

To Jack and Mary, thank you for your support throughout our Mom’s illness and for your professionalism when it was time to lay our Mom to rest, which you did with great dignity and empathy. Thank you also to those who prepared our Mom’s final resting place.

As it would be impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgment as an expression of our sincere appreciation and gratitude to all.
