Please pick a bunch for me

Place them in my husband’s arms

And when he turns to smile

Place a kiss upon his face and

Hold him for a while

 

Remembering you is easy

I do that every day

But there’s an ache within my heart

Our time together was special

So were the memories we made

And although you rest in in your heavenly reward

And nothing feels the same

And my heart breaks a little more

Every time I hear your name

You will always be remembered

But a piece of me is missing

Fifth Anniversary of my dear father Denis who left us on May 12th to sleep with the angels

You held my hand

When I was small

You caught me when I fell

The hero of my childhood

And of latter years as well

 

Every time I think of you

My heart is filled with pride

In sunshine and in rain

I know you are watching over me

Just close your eyes and you will see

All the memories that you have of me

I’m always there inside your mind

Don’t cry for me now I’m gone

For I am in the land of song

There is no pain, there is no fear

So dry away those silent tears

Don’t think of me in the dark and cold

For here I am now, I am no longer old

I’m in that place that’s filled with love

He was never one to boast

He just went on quietly working

His wants were very few

And most of the time his worries

He was there, a firm foundation

Through all our storms of life

A sturdy hand to hold onto

In times of stress and strife

 

A true friend we could turn to

When time was good or bad

One of my life’s greatest blessings
