Diarmuid’s wife Maura, his children Ruairí and Clíona, wish to extend their heartfelt thanks for all the kind expressions of condolence and the exceptional support they received following his sudden death and throughout the funeral.
We thank most sincerely all who sympathised with us on the loss of our beloved Diarmuid, those who attended the funeral Mass and burial, all who travelled long distances to be with us, and those who called to the funeral home and the house. We greatly appreciate the many Mass cards, sympathy cards and phone calls that we received. Our many friends and neighbours deserve special mention for their thoughtfulness and help. We also thank those who made donations to Arklow Cancer Support.
Our thanks to Fr. David Brough for celebrating such a beautiful, personalised and comforting Mass and to Stephen Walker and Rosarii Kinsella for the wonderful music.
A very special word of thanks to Arklow Community First Responders, Garda Ben, The Ambulance Crew and Fr. Pádraig Ó'Cochláin for the compassion and support shown to us in our time of need.
We are eternally grateful to the team at Hudson Funeral Directors who showed so much support, compassion and professionalism. Thank you to Joe and Tom who prepared Diarmuid’s grave and to the Arklow Bay Hotel for their hospitality. Mere words are inadequate to thank our good friends Joe, Helena and their family who gave us the most amazing and unwavering support in our time of complete shock and grief.
A special word of thanks to Dr. Anthony Bentley and his staff who cared for Diarmuid during the past eighteen years following his heart surgery and cancer diagnosis. We also are grateful to Niamh and all the staff in Adrian Dunne’s Pharmacy for their continued advice and concern.
The kindness and love you all bestowed on us over the days of our dear Diarmuid’s funeral will always comfort us. Due to the amount of support we received it would be impossible to thank everyone individually. We trust this acknowledgement will be accepted by all as a token of our heartfelt appreciation.
Diarmuid’s month’s mind Mass will be celebrated on Saturday 27th August, at 6.30pm in The Church of Saints Mary and Peter, Arklow.
