Acknowledgement & First Anniversary

Lovingly remembering Didi (Deirdre) O’Sullivan on her first anniversary which occurs on 19th May, 2024.

Loved and missed and always remembered by her parents P.J. and Mary B, her brothers Pat, Brian and Sean and her sister Sinead, her sisters in law Cathy, Sheree and Donna and her brother in-law Ryan, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and very many friends.

We, her family, wish to express our gratitude to those who offered sympathies, support and kindness since Didi’s death and during her illness.

We are most grateful to the Kerry Palliative Care team, local district nursing team and night nurse Nancy. Your help allowed us to look after Didi at home during the last weeks of her life and allowed her to pass peacefully in her own home surrounded by her loving family.

A special word of gratitude to Dr. Brian O’Donovan who looked after Didi so well in her final months.

Thank you to everyone who called to our home to sympathise, brought food, directed traffic or helped in so many other ways.

A special mention to Didi’s aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who organised and prepared food, made tea and looked after us all so well during Didi’s wake.

We wish to express our gratitude to all those who sent cards and messages of sympathy and to everyone who travelled long distances, even from as far away as Australia.

Many thanks to all the GAA teams who formed guards of honour. It was so nice to see all the teams Didi played with from South Kerry, New Zealand, Australia and Dublin.

A special thank you to the undertaker Seamus Lynch for his professionalism and empathy and also to John Curran who assisted him so well.

Thanks to Fr. Larry for the beautiful funeral Mass and all his visits to Didi during her final weeks.

Our sincere gratitude to the Valentia Parish Choir for the beautiful music and singing.

Didi’s First Anniversary Mass will take place at 11.15am on Sunday, 2nd June, 2024 at Chapeltown Church, Valentia Island.
