Died 29th September 2025
Anna and the O’Rourke family would like to express our sincere gratitude to everyone who called to the house, attended the Funeral, sent messages, offered sympathy in person or online, sent mass cards, sympathy cards or supported us in any way following the recent passing of Donal. A special thanks to our families, fantastic friends, neighbours and community for the help received during those days.
To Dermot in Lees Gala, Fergus in Crowe's Butchers and everyone who brought food and supplies and helped in the house, to Ballyhaise GAA for Guard of Honour and all who helped with parking, stewarding at the house, Chapel and Cemetery. To Flood's Taxis for the shuttle bus. Thanks to you all.
We extend special thanks to Fr. Gerard Cassidy and Fr. Kevin Fay for the lovely Funeral ceremony and to Fr. Gerard for the support shown to Donal in recent years as his mobility deteriorated. Thank you to Martina Boyle and Jim Leonard for the lovely music at the Funeral, to Eucharistic Minister Eileen Watters and all who contributed to the Mass.
We are very grateful to the grave diggers, DT One Menswear for suits and Ita, Timmy and all in Duggan’s Drumliffe for refreshments afterwards.
We are very grateful to all who looked after Donal in recent years, to Gary and staff in Railway Pharmacy, to Dr Thomas Prior and all at Farnham Medical Practice, HSE Community Care, Home Support and Family Carers Ireland for their outstanding care. We are extremely thankful to Steven and all the Cavan Monaghan Palliative Care Team for their support and guidance during Donal’s last days. We are extremely grateful to Declan, Bernard, Keith, Grainne and all in Finnegan Funeral Directors for their guidance, support and professionalism.
As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, please accept this acknowledgement as an expression of our deepest gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the mass will be offered for your intentions.
